Reading is like any other skill in life - it takes practice! You should read as much in English as you can, every day. Magazines, websites, newspapers and graded readers (intermediate and upper intermediate level books) are all great sources. It isn't all about doing practice tests - the more you read the quicker you will get and the more vocabulary you will earn. You will also improve your grammar and writing because you will naturally recognise English sentence grammar and word order patterns if you read a lot.
